In this chapter I wrote that families work best when we do them God’s way as shown to us in the Bible. Here are some resources that illustrate that truth. I have also included links to organizations dedicated to helping those who desire to change the course of their lives and choose God’s way.

Family Research Council

This organization explains the Christian view on many issues of the day and provides statistics to show what works and what doesn’t. One does need to dig down a couple of layers to find the hard data.

Focus on the Family

Home of the long-running radio program of the same name, this organization provides resources to help with all aspects of family life.

Love and Respect

I highly recommend the book by the same title. It helped Linda and i to better understand each other.

We believe love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Research reveals that during marital conflict a husband most often reacts when feeling disrespected and a wife reacts when feeling unloved. We asked 7,000 people this question: when you are in a conflict with your spouse or significant other, do you feel unloved or disrespected? 83% of the men said “disrespected.” 72% of the women said, “unloved.” Though we all need love and respect equally, the felt need differs during conflict, and this difference is as different as pink is from blue!

“Restored Hope Network is a coalition of ministries serving those who desire to overcome sinful relational and sexual issues in their lives and those impacted by  homosexuality.  Restored Hope works alongside the body of Christ, the Church, and to connect those seeking help with local member ministries and other resources that are available, as well as support, equip and connect the local member ministries.”
